Keely, the dynamic author behind Heart of a Thug, delivers gripping urban
fiction and romance that explores trauma, love, and resilience. A
Chesapeake, Virginia native, her storytelling is shaped by her experiences
as the eldest of eight siblings and her role as a spirited 7th-grade history
teacher.
Her passion for urban fiction began at nine, evolving into powerful
narratives that captivate readers. With a bachelor's in history and a
master's in secondary education, she blends academic insight with raw,
emotional storytelling.
In Heart of a Thug, Keely introduces Omar and Keisha, a couple navigating
love and survival. As part of The Thug Series Phase II, her novel builds on
Wahida Clark’s legacy while offering a fresh take on relationships and
redemption.
Beyond writing, Keely engages readers through Keely’s Lit Lounge, a space
celebrating urban fiction and its cultural impact.
